Tässä artikkelisarjassa valaistumisella tarkoitetaan ensisijaisesti ortodoksisen hindufilosofian mukaista tilaa,
joka mahdollistaa vapautumisen reinkarnaation oravanpyörästä. Valaistumisen vapauttava vaikutus

teistinen 8-osainen* (aSTaan.ga: aSTa + an.ga [~ashtaang-ga]) yoga, jonka teoreettinen perusta on meidän
päiviimme säilyneessä muodossaan ateistinen MaharSi Kapilan saaMkhya (saankhja; merkitys
enkuksi ilmaistuna: pertaining to number).

Noh, saaMkhya-filosofian 25 kategoriaa eli tattvaa (tat-tva: that-ness) Kapila ilmaisee seuraavassa suutrassaan
(ulkomuistista, saattaa mennä vähän pieleen; väliviivat ja pilkut "lukemisen" helpottamiseksi):

sattva-rajas-tamasaaM saamyaavasthaa prakRtiH, prakRter mahaan, mahato (a)haMkaaro, (a)haMkaaraat
pañca tanmaatrany**(-)ubhayam indriyaM***, tanmaatrebhyaH sthuula-bhuutaani****; puruSa iti pañca-vimshatir-gaNaH.

Yoga-filosofian tärkein opus lienee vajaasta 200:sta aforismista eli suutrasta (kirjaimellisesti lanka)

** tan-maatrat:  viisi aistien toimintaperiaatetta (hienoimmasta karkeimpaan, suluissa aistiin liittyvä elementti) kuulo (aakaasha eli "Tyhjyys"),  tunto (vaayu eli Ilma), näkö (tejas/agni eli Tuli), maku (jala/apas eli Vesi) ja haju (pRthivii eli Maa).

*** indriyat: viisi aistinelintä ja toimintaelintä + mieli

**** sthuula-bhuutat: viisi karkeata elementtiä, mainittu yllä aistien yhteydessä

(Yoga-suutra -opuksessa on siis neljä paadaa eli kirjaa tai osaa ("jalkaa") [1]. Joidenkin tutkijoiden

Sana kaivalya esiintyy ainakin seuraavissa suutrissa (kaivalya on sanan yhdyssanoissa esiintyvä vartalo,
 kaivalyam taas yksikön nom./acc.)

(Yleisluontoinen huomautus hindujen suutra-tyylistä: se muodostunee pääsääntöisesti nominaalilauseista,
ja sangen harvakseltaan sisältää finiittisiä verbimuotoja. Yoga-suutrissa on käsittääksemme alle viisi (5) finiittistä
verbimuotoa!)

tadabhaavaat saMyogaabhaavo haanaM tad dRsheH kaivalyam. ( II 25 )
[lausu sanat yhteen, _ merkistä piittaamatta: tad_abhaavaat  sañjooga_abhaavoo haanan tad drisheehe kaivaljam]

Seuraavassa litaniassa kaivalya käännetty mm. liberation'iksi  ja independence'iksi. Hakasuluissa kääntäjien
nimien alkukirjainlyhenteet:

[HA]:
The Absence Of Alliance That Arises From Lack Of It Is The Freedom And That Is The State Of Liberation Of The Seer.

[IT]:
The dissociation of Purusa and Prakrti brought about by the dispersion of Avidya is the real remedy and that is the Liberation of the Seer.

[VH]:
[BM]:
[SS]:
Without this ignorance, no such union occurs. This is the independence of the Seer.

[SP]:
When ignorance has been destroyed, this identification ceases. Then bondage is at an end and the experiencer is indepedent and free.

[SV]:
There being absence of that (ignorance) there is absence of junction, which is the thingto-be-avoided; that is the independence of the seer.

tadvairaagyaadapi doSabiijakSaye kaivalyam. (III 50)
[tad_vairaagjaad_api doosha_biidsa_kshajee kaivaljam]

sattvapuruSayoH shuddhisaamye kaivalyam. (III 55)
[sattva_purushajoosh shuddhi_saamjee kaivaljam]

tadaa vivekanimnaM kaivalya-praagbhaaraM cittam.
[tadaa viveeka_nimnang kaivalja_praag_bhaarañ tshittam]

Koko opuksen vika suutra:

puruSaarthashuunyaanaaM guNaanaaM pratiprasavaH kaivalyam
svaruupapratiSThaa vaa citishaktir iti . (IV 34)
[purusha_artha_shuunjaanaang gunaanaam prati_prasavaha kaivaljam
sva_ruupa_pratishthaa vaa tshiti_shaktir iti . (IV 34) ]

(Tuon vikan suutran viimeinen yhdyssana taitaa olla käyttämässämme
lähteessä muodoltaan virheellinen. Se on nominatiivimuodossa, mutta
tällöin mielestämme virkkeestä tulee anakoluuttinen. Ainakin Taimnin
kirjassa muoto on citishakter, eli viimeinen vokaali on e, jolloin kyseessä
on ablatiivi/genetiivi...)

Toki kuitenkin muutamassa keskeisessä suutrassa on valoon mitä selkeimmin liittyvää terminologiaa.

(Jos "kiinnostaa", mm. täältä löytyy useiden eri tyyppien käännöksiä:
http://yogasutrastudy.info/yoga-sutra-translations/)

1. pAda [paada]   m. foot, leg (lit. & fig.), foot as a measure; column, pillar; ray, beam (as the foot of a heavenly body); fourth part, quarter of anything, esp. of a four-versed stanza, also part or verse i.g., section, chapter.

2. kaivalya   n. exclusiveness, absolute oneness, eternal happiness, beatitude.

3. kevala [lausu: keevala], f. {I} (later {A}) exclusive, belonging only to (gen. or dat.); alone, simple, pure, mere; whole, entire, each, all.

samaadhi 24/7 eli nitya-samaadhi, siis samaadhi, neljäs tietoisuuden tila (Puhdas Tietoisuus,
aatman, purusha, draSTri [yks. nominatiivi: draSTaa*], Näkijä)  tavallaan muiden

Kuten aiemmin on tullut todettua, TM:n luokituksessa on kolme valaistumisen astetta,
josta "alkeellisin" on Kosminen Tietoisuus. Se on juurikin em. tila, jolloin samaadhi on
kaiken aikaa tiedostettuna muiden kolmen tietoisuudentilan ohella.

* draSTaa dRshi-maatraH, shuddho 'pi pratyayaanupashyaH.

siten valaistumisen tiellä edistyminen on perin
8-osaisen yogan (aSTaan.ga-yogan) viimeinen an.ga (ang-ga) eli jäsen tai osa.

TM-liikkeen perustaja, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi  oppi gurultaan, Svaamii

http://www.paulmason.info/gurudev/introduction.htm

Transsendenttisen Meditaation, opettajasi johdolla toivon
Yogan muut an.gat integroivat samaadhin vaikutusta
samaadhin "kokemista" meditaation aikana.

* Koko titteli: His Divinity Svaamii Brahmaananda Sarasvatii Mahaaraaj, Shrii Gurudeva,
Jagadguru [maailmanopettaja, MMY:n kautta] Bhagavaan Shankaraacaarya of Jyotir MaTha, Himaalayas.

on itseensäviittaava (self-referral) tietoisuudentila.

(tallennetaan kesken eräisenä...)

(sanskrit-teksteissä tavuviivat yhdyssanoissa "lukemisen" helpottamiseksi; alkuteksti on useimmiten
yhtä "pötköä"...)

Noh, saaMkhya-filosofian mukaan "Big Bang'in" syynä on prakRtin kolmen guNan (säikeen; kvaliteetin yms.)
sattvan, rajas'in ja tamas'in keskinäisen tasapainon (saamya-avasthaa: "samuus-tila"?) järkkyminen.

Patañjali käyttää ainakin seuraavia synonyymeja: sattva = prakaasha, rajas = kriyaa, tamas = sthiti:

prakaasha-kriyaa-sthiti-shiilam bhuutendriya-aatmakaM bhoga-apavarga-arthaM dRshyam.

The seen is of the nature of the gunas: illumination [sattva: olevaisuus] , activity [rajas: intohimo] and inertia [tamas: pimeys**]; and consists of the elements and sense organs, whose purpose is to provide both experiences and liberation [to the Purusha]

Muoto 'sat' lienee kyseisen
verbin aktiivin partisiipin preesensin neutrimuodon yksikön nominatiivi/(akkusatiivi). Suomessa sitä vastaisi siis lähinnä
oleva(inen). Johdin -tva puolestaan on melko yleinen abstraktinominien johdin, vastaten ainakin suomen johtimia -us,ys,
-uus, -yys, esim. kauneus, räikeys, rasvaisuus, kylläisyys. Niinpä sattvan voisi kirjaimellisesti kääntää suomeksi
vähän kai kankeahkosti 'olevaisuus'.

* Mikäli nämä nimet tuntuvat "epätieteellisiltä", vertaa niitä kvarkkien nimiin: ylös, alas, outo, lumo, huippu, pohja....  Grin

Itse sana kvarkki on peräisin James Joyce'n Finnegans wake'istä:

Etymology[edit]
For some time, Gell-Mann was undecided on an actual spelling for the term he intended to coin, until he found the word quark in James Joyce's book Finnegans Wake:

Three quarks for Muster Mark!
Sure he has not got much of a bark
And sure any he has it's all beside the mark.

—James Joyce, Finnegans Wake[43]

(tallennetaan keskeneräisenä...)

Taidanpa jättää muutaman "artikkelin" väliin, että vihdoin pääsisimme itse
otsakkeen aiheeseen käsiksi...

 :Smiley

Yksi "kiintoisa" suutra aiheen kannalta on III 35:

sattvapuruShayoratyantaasaMkIrNayoH pratyayaavisheSho bhogaH paraarthatvaat svaarthasaMyamaat puruShaj~jaanam

[sattva_purushajoor atj(ati)_anta_asang-kiirnajoof pratjajaavisheeshoo bhoogaf para_arthatvaat sva_artha_sañjamaat purusha_gjaanam]

[IT]: (36):

Experience is the result of inability to distinguish between the purusha and the Sattva though they are absolutely distinct. Knowledge of the purusha results from samyama on the Self-interest (of the purusha) apart from another’s interest.

[VH]:
Experience is a pratyaya which does not distinguish sattva (guna of brightness, a primary constituent of matter) and purusha – the self as absolutely unmixed. By sanyama on what exists for its own sake (purusha) distinct from that (sattva) which exists for the other – the knowledge of purusha.

[BM]:
Worldly experience is caused by a failure to differentiate between the lucid quality of nature and the spirit. From perfect discipline of the distinction between spirit as the subject of itself and the lucid quality of nature as a dependent object, one gains knowledge of the spirit.

[SS]: (36):

The intellect and the Purusha (or Atman) are totally different, the intellect existing for the sake of Purusha, while the Purusha exists for its own sake. Not distinguishing this is the cause of all experience; and by samyama on the distinction, knowledge of the Purusha is gained.

[SP]:
(36) The power of enjoyment arises from a failure to discriminate between the Atman and the sattwa guna, which are totally different. The sattwa guna is merely the agent of the Atman, which is independent, existing only for its own sake. By making samyama on the independence of the Atman, one gains knowledge of the Atman.

[SV]: (36):

Enjoyment comes by the non-discrimination of the very distant soul and Sattva. Its actions are for another; Samyama on this gives knowledge of the Purusha.

Ylläoleva sekoilu toivottavasti auttaa meitä ainakin jossain määrin hiffaamaan, mikä on mahdollisesti

(ykseystietoisuudessa olevalla) jäppisellä on kaikki luonnolait ns. hanskassa. Hän kyennee kontrolloimaan
prakRtia aina guNain alin.ga ("merkittömälle") -tasolle astikka. Tuo taso voisi vastata esim. nykyfyssan
Planckin pituutta.****

Juutalaisten epäkoherenttien tarinoiden ja sensellaisen kaapuun puetun esoteerisen tiedon aarreaitan,
tanakin* mukaan Jumala loi ihmisen omaksi kuvakseen. Koska Jumala on Kaikkivaltias (el shaddai),
myös Ihminen on periaatteessa sitä. Kuitenkin varsinkin hallitseva luokka on viimeisten muutaman tuhannen
vuoden aikana tukahduttanut nuo ihmisen jumalalliset kyvyt todellisuuden hienoimpia aspekteja
vähättelevän ja vääristävän koulutuksen muodossa.

Juutalainen Jeesus Nasaretilainen*** (Jeshua ben-Josef) demonstroi Uuden Testamentin mukaan noita ihmisen jumalallisia
kykyjä mm. ruokkimalla 5000 ihmistä tai silleen kahdella kalalla ja viidellä leivällä, eli Hän kykeni
kontrolloimaan luonnonlakeja siinä määrin että haltsasi materian luomisen "tyhjästä".

Patañjali vihjaa mm. seuraavassa suutrassa (I 40) tuohon luonnonlakien hallintaan kaikissa "kokoluokissa"

paramaaNu paramamahattvaanto’sya vashIkaaraH
[parama-aNu parama-mahattva-antaH asya vashii-kaaraH]

[HA]: When The Mind Develops The Power Of Stabilising On The Smallest Size As Well As On The Greatest One, Then The Mind Comes Under Control.

[VH]: The mastery of this (dhyana-meditation and hence desirelessness for its objects) extends from the gretest magnitude to the greatest minuteness.

["paras" käännös:]

[BM]: For one whose thought is tranquil [asya = hänen], mastery [vashii-kaaraH] extends from the most [parama] minute particle [aNu] to the vast expanse [parama-mahattva-antaH]**.

[SS]: Gradually, one’s mastery in concentration extends from the primal atom to the greatest magnitude.

[SP]: The mind of a yogi can concentrate upon any object of any size, from the atomic to the infinitely great.

[SV]: The Yogi’s mind thus meditating, becomes un-obstructed from te atomic to the Infinite.
Tallennetaan varmuuden välttämiseksi keskeneräisenä...

Esimerkiksi Måns Broo'lla on hyvin sananmukainen käännös:

Hänen hallintansa ulottuu pienimmästä suurimpaan.

* Tanakki (Toora, Nevi'im, Ketuvim) on lähes identtinen kristittyjen Wanhan Testamentin kanssa.
** Huomaamme, että käännöksiin on lähes välttämätöntä lisätä rutkasti sanoja ymmärrettävyyden
säilyttämiseksi...
*** Jesse viittaa ykseystietoisuudessa olemiseensa mm. Joh. 10:30 -ssä -- Minä ja Isä olemme yhtä.

"Melko valaistuneen" ihmisen ominaisuuksia "hyvän" käännöksen kera:

sthUlasvarUpasUkShmAnvayArthavattvasa.nyamAd.hbhUtajayaH .. 44..
[sthuula-svaruupa-suukshma-anvaya-arthavattva-saMyamaad bhuuta-jayaH]

By making samyama  on the gross  and subtle  forms of the elements, on their essential characteristics  and the inherence of the gunas in them, and on the experiences they provide for the individual, one gains mastery of the elements.

tato.aNimAdiprAdurbhAvaH kAyasampattaddharmAnabhighAtashcha .. 45..
[tataH; aNima-aadi-praadur-bhaavaH kaaya-sampat-tad-dharma-an_abhighaataH; ca]

From that comes attainment of anima and other siddis, bodily perfection and the non-obstruction of bodily functions by the influence of the elements. [Note: the eight major siddhis alluded to here are: anima (to become very small); mahima (to become very big); laghima (very light); garima (heavy); prapti (to reach anywhere); prakamya (to achieve all one’s desires); isatva (ability to create anything); vasitva (ability to command and control everything).]

rUpalAvaNyabalavajrasa.nhananatvAni kAyasampat.h .. 46..
[ruupa-laavaNya-bala-vajra_saMhananatvaani kaaya-sampat]

Beauty, grace, strength, and adamantine hardness constitute bodily perfection.

grahaNasvarUpAsmitAnvayArthavattvasa.nyamAdindriyajayaH .. 47..

Mastery of the sense-organs by performing Samyama on their power of cognition, real nature, egoism, all pervasiveness and functions.

tato manojavitva.n vikaraNabhAvaH pradhAnajayashcha .. 48..

From that, the body gains the power to move as fast as the mind [beam me up, Scotty!?   Grin ], ability to function without the aid of the sense organs, and complete mastery over the primary cause (Prakriti).

sattvapuruShAnyatAkhyAtimAtrasya sarvabhAvAdhiShThAtR^itva.n
sarvaj~nAtR^itva.n cha .. 49..

By recognition of the distinction between the sattva (pure reflective nature) and the Self [purusha], supremacy over all states and forms of existence [omnipotence] is gained as is omniscience.

tadvairAgyAdapi doShabIjakShaye kaivalyam.h .. 50..

By non-attachment even to that [all these siddhis], the seed of bondage is destroyed and thus follows Kaivalya
(Independence ).
